The forum and fort in in . It had been made a colony for veterans in the first century during the reign of the Emperor Nerva.
The town was the birthplace in 124AD of the Numidian who wrote the only Roman novel, "The Golden Ass" or "Metamorphoses", to survive fully intact. He also coined the proverb "familiarity breeds contempt."
Saint of Hippo studied there in the 4th century.

Another to come back to again & again. Magical and quite a lot silly. Like a mad cousin to & the / Surprised more people haven’t considered this as an ancient part of the canon since it feels like would fit. If at least some of this isn’t pure psychic automatism then I’m not sure what is.
