I live on the Canadian prairies, and the pm 2.5 #AQHI this morning is at 204 (update, higher now - been getting worse by the minute). Ive got a lung condition as well, like to go paddling and running, but recently tried that in 170 and it was baaaad.
Didn't think we'd be at a point where checking the air quality along with the weather would become a daily habit. We have stretches of days where we just don't go outside anymore. Incredibly sad.

Currently it's running almost an hour behind and updates hourly. So it jumped from 5.5 @ 09:00 to 8.2 @ 10.00, but it's now 11:00. That's kinda significant, especially when there's an air quality alert in effect.

I'm thinking that it's not the best time for kids to be running around during a baseball tournament. Responsible organizers would cancel it.
