One of the things that struck me most in Austria was the frankness with which Alex Rins and Pol Espargaro talked about the long-term consequences of the massive injuries they sustained this year.
So I wrote about the unseen pain which riders go through. They lie awake, unable to sleep, knowing that the pain isn't going away.

After @akyranishimura's excellent interview with Honda's Koji Watanabe, now it is my turn, with a long interview with Yamaha's Lin Jarvis.
In part 1, Jarvis explains why Yamaha chose Alex Rins over Franco Morbidelli, and why the Japanese factories are so far behind in MotoGP.
Part 2, on concessions and a satellite team, tomorrow.

And Alex Rins is to be Franco Morbidelli's replacement at Yamaha. But you already knew that, as I mentioned that before.
Lin Jarvis statement is interesting:
"He already has experience with two other MotoGP manufacturers and has ridden bikes with similar characteristics to the YZR-M1."
One-year deal for Rins to bring him in line with the rest of the field.
Two bits of #MotoGP news:
- Cal Crutchlow confirmed as a wildcard for Motegi
- Alex Rins will miss Silverstone, Iker Lecuona to replace him.
