"Lishan didan" means "our language", it is also the name of a Judeo-Aramaic dialect spoken by the "Nash didan" (our people), a Jewish community my ancestors belonged to, who settled near Lake Urmia in 586 BCE. They started immigrating back to Palestine in small numbers since 1895s.
Since Judeo-Aramaic is written in Hebrew script, it's deceitfully approachable. Many expressions are preserved in Hebrew, but otherwise you'd need a dictionary...

Barabbas is the name of a figure at Jesus' crucifixion. "Bar" as a prefix means "son of", right? Is "Abbas" different from "Abba"? Is this going where I think it is? Is this a name found elsewhere in ancient sources? Does this guy's name really mean "father's son" or "dad's boy"?

John 20:16 says that ραββουνι (rabbouni) is #Hebrew for 'teacher'. Always found this odd, because normally, it's not; not #Aramaic either. Closest thing would seem to be ribbōnī 'my master'. Why isn't that just spelled ρεββουνι (rebbouni) or something like that? Well, 1/4

The Abgarid dynasty reigned between 134 BC and 242 AD over Edessa and Osroene in Upper Mesopotamia.
They were Arabs but ruled over a majority Aramean people and were Arameanized themselves. Classical Syriac developed from the dialect spoken by them.

He suggests that the origin may have been purely indigenous with the Indus script as its predecessor.[76] However, Allchin and Erdosy later in 1995 expressed the opinion that there was as yet insufficient evidence to resolve the question.[77] G.R. Hunter in his book The Script of #Harappa and #Mohenjodaro and Its Connection with Other Scripts (1934) proposed a derivation of the Brahmi alphabets from the #IndusScript, the match being considerably higher than that of #Aramaic in his estimation.[78]
