@mgladdish @adamgreenfield It's an idea subject to much speculation and several hoaxes: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Archaeoacoustics; http://itre.cis.upenn.edu/~myl/languagelog/archives/002875.html. I can't find any good evidence that anyone has successfully recovered sounds recorded in ancient pottery.
