A wonderful bit of playing and singing by Peter Pringle. From the video description:
"THE EXALTATION OF was written in by the daughter of Sargon The Great, the High Priestess of Inanna in the city of , a woman by the name of . What you hear in this video, are the first twelve lines of the EXALTATION, sung in Sumerian, and accompanied on a scale of the remarkable “Gold of Ur”, discovered in the 1920’s by British archaeologist Sir Leonard Woolley.
Enheduanna was born more than 4,000 years ago, and she is the first named author of a literary work that we know of. Her writings and her history are well documented on the internet, and if you are interested in learning more about her, I refer you to a wonderful website called “enheduana ‘dot’ net”."
The description also talks a bit more about the lyre, exaltation, and his approach.

An interesting video started on the question: "Did come from ?"
Of course NOT!!! But it does touch on a really important trap that a lot of people fall into: hierarchical and linear thinking. And, Farya does a great job of explaining this fallacy, and the (ugh!) evolutionism that underlines it. Since this is one of my regular rant subjects and 328%-confirmed pet peeves, I'm letting someone else do the talking for a change.
