Amazing to be inside the wooden #medieval octagon tower #ely #cathedral #uk, looking down into the nave and realising you're standing on wooden beams from oak trees that are even older than 1342 when the tower was completed. A true #architectural feat.

Near the Cathedral in St Michael's Golden Domed Monastery in #Kyiv, #Ukraine

The monastery was founded in 1108–1113. The Cathedral was ruined by the Soviet occupation regime in 1934–1936. An exact replica was rebuilt in 1999.
