It turned out, even after I learned more about these three photos, and that it was a school, nobody in the family knew Gladys had worked for a year in Frenchburg! So why it had never been mentioned is a family mystery to still solve. :)

So, amongst family photos I'm scanning, I found three photos with "Frenchburg" written on back. A mystery to the family. I hunted online, AND found an #ArchitecturalHistorian in Kentucky who had recently blogged re what I now know is a school. I immediately recognized the abandoned building in her blog! She was thrilled to receive photos of the school, as it was in 1923.
