If you run pacman -Syu on #ArchLinuxARM today, you'll get this error:

error: failed retrieving file 'community.db' from mirror.archlinuxarm.org : The requested URL returned error: 404
error: failed to synchronize all databases (unexpected error)

This change is due to Arch Linux ARM removing the [community] repository (as it has merged to extra).

You can fix this by removing the repository from /etc/pacman.conf.

@melsbells @JustineSmithies happy to see some tui app love on the #pinephone! i have daily driven the pinephone with #sxmo on #archlinuxarm for almost a year and a half (since the day i got it, november 1, 2021) and have never looked back! i use the pinephone without convergence for light tasks like playing music or browsing the fediverse, with the keyboard case for medium tasks like light school work, and #nexdock convergence for heavy tasks like writing essays for school

I am halting any kind of work on archlinux, parabola and pacman due to:
* Archlinux not giving a shit about aarch64 and actively blocks any kind of development for it
* ArchLinuxArm not replying to me and evidently removing my issue from their bug tracker about it
* Parabola, because Denis 'GNUToo' Carikli is keep kicking me from an IRC for no fucking reason
* Pacman is a trash package manager which source code should be put on a flash disk and thrown into a fire which would be a major help to address replication crisis in the computer science

The unfinished work that would provide a full compatibility of Parabola and ArchLinuxArm with all sunxi boards that currently builds a functional u-boot for OLIMEX Teres-A64 and can be easily adjusted to build other sunxi boards is provided on https://gist.github.com/Kreyren/97eef26fb6c92e3f6188b72b4dc2c26a

Thanks to @mogwai (and the @Raspberry_Pi, there is now a nice Widevine solution for aarch64/arm64.

In #ManjaroARM and #ArchLinuxARM you can now install glibc-widevine and widevine-aarch64 from the #AUR to get access to DRM content on Chromium and Firefox.

It's totally normal to run your x86-64 #chromedriver under an emulated amd64 subsystem on an #aarch64 device.

I think I'll exclude #PineTab in this month release, since it never worked properly for a few months and I've just started to debugging it.

Plus, the user base of the PineTab is not that much so it's not really high priority right now.

I know this is a disappointing news for some, but I'm very sorry.

@Sinthoid There are a lot of distros out there, including many not derived from Debian (including, downstream, Ubuntu + the *buntu clones with different DEs, and downstream from them, Mint). But Ubuntu / Mint always seem to be regarded as the default, and even the Raspberry Pi foundation recommend their spin on Debian (originally Raspbian, now the more clunky Raspberry Pi OS) for the boards.

Meanwhile, I run #ArchLinux (or should that be #ArchBTW? 😈), and my Pis run #ArchLinuxARM aka alarm.

One downside is that git-annex is written in #Haskell... Nothing against Haskell per se, but the fact that is is unavailable on #ArchLinuxARM (and thus all derivates) is really annoying and you have to go through hoops to get software like #pandoc, #hledger, git-annex, etc. running.

Here is a modified PKGBUILD for latest git-annex for aarch64 ArchLinuxARM:
