Seriously, #Aristophanes' Clouds, written in 423 BC, has a scene where the moon herself launches an official complaint against the Athenian Assembly over how they're screwing around with the lengths of the months for their own convenience, so that civil time is completely divorced from astronomical time. The play favours the moon.

One side note from last week's excitement in the Scottish Parliament: I'd always suspected I was missing a "speaking name" joke in Dr Strangelove's President #Merkin Muffley, and now I know.

It's not as if I didn't know that pubic wigs existed, and I've worked on Greek #comedy for decades - which had a costume body, including genitalia. Time to update my lectures.
