We are caught in a bind of self-imposed delusions. We think that if a project is beneficial for one reason, that it should be done regardless of other negative impacts.

Thus, if a project claims to lower greenhouse gas emissions it is OK, no matter how else it effects the environment, natural habitats, biodiversity, ecological interrelationships and natural resource consumption.

It is this kind of thinking that lead #ArneNæss and others to develop the philosophy of #DeepEcology.
