Don't ask people what genres they're into, it's too narrow. I've also found it can also be a way to judge. I love fantasy but I like Throne of Glass, The Inheritance Cycle, The Hobbit and other (what some consider) "lighter" works. It annoys me greatly to hear I'm not a real fantasy or sci fi lover because it's not Raymond E Feist or Game of Thrones (both brilliant just not something I would pick up to relax with).
If you want to really get to know someone's taste. Ask them the favourites they've read lately. What's on their to read list, what they have read in the last year, a book that surprised them or got them interested in something new. Find out what they are actually reading and keep the judgement to yourself. Be kind.

#CollateralDamage (2002) marked the first film that Schwarzenegger did not use a gun since #JingleAllTheWay six years earlier (if we include Mr Freeze’s ice Ray etc in #Batman&Robin). His next film without would be #AroundTheWorldIn80Days (2004), although his next leading role without a gun would not happen until #Aftermath fifteen years later.
