Interestingly, since the extant "old" repertory for the #arpeggione is limited to exactly that *one* Schubert piece, reviving the instrument entailed commissioning #newmusic for it: a brand new sound for an old, forgotten instrument! Exciting, no? While modern transcriptions are beautiful, it's still a *different* pleasure to hear an #historicallyaccurate rendition by #cellist N.
