Excavation of a small part of a 1 kilometer long Neolithic cursus monument has just been completed for another season on the Isle of Arran & established its remains are better preserved than first thought.
The project was delivered by archaeologist from University of Glasgow, Archaeology Scotland, and many other institutions, as student field training but also with participation of local volunteers.

A cracking night out last night thanks to Kenton Cool and Arran Mountain Festival, hearing the Everest Untold story. Loved the tale of Yuichiro Muira's ski down from the South Col, ⛷️ and the fascinating details of the early expeditions 🏔. The first adventurers on the mountain were absolutely nails. 🧗♀️. Stunning colours (the faintest hint of a rainbow 🌈) up on the Clauchlands hills this morning with my Nuis. 🐕 Can't really decide if my favourite time of year is autumn, winter or spring, but it isn't summer, that's for sure. This summer has been pish anyway, and I missed the heatwave while I was catching dysentery in rainy Switzerland. I'm loving the turning of the seasons. Can really feel it now!
