How do we know the rich don't like ?

Take the market for , where they are dominant:
largely unregulated, problems from the of to the utilisation of art in , not to forget - where art is used to obscure shady behaviour - are widespread

In 2022 a Code of Conduct for Contemporary Art Collectors was launched, identifying such practices as unethical - it'll be interesting to see what effect this has!

Fossil fuel interests "“engineering a social licence to operate” in the face of growing public pressure...

"Belinda Noble, from ComsDeclare, a group of Australian public relations professionals campaigning for a fossil fuel ad ban, said the deals were about building influence.

“It’s a subtle way of trying to engineer social support, or continued social support, for these polluting products,” she said.

The relationship between sponsorship and climate activism has again been in the news. Players of professional tennis, football, cricket and netball have exercised their muscle recently and pushed back against sponsorship deals for their codes and representative teams by companies operating in the extractive industries.

My latest in on and This is how corporations have made themselves appear indispensable. Part of why they seem so is because we are so used to seeing them everywhere, with their logos on our dialysis units, cancer wards, jumpers of our footy teams, sports stadiums and favourite arts festivals. This ubiquity is social license in action. Their visibility and their savvy sponsorship choices are specifically designed to make us think of them as essential to our lives. overland.org.au/2022/10/anothe
