I made prints with a friend of mine (because her printer is top tier) and will take those to a convention this weekend. Only one print per image and I am curious if I get to sell anything.
The prices I have to take for those a steep in my opinion, but paper is the new gold it seems.
If I did not print them myself I would have payed 14€ each. The joke is that I would have payed 12€ for a canvas print.
Whats wrong with this world?

@artcollisions I looked at #artistproblems tag to see if anyone else posted to it and found your post on artist statements. I guess that was a couple months ago tho (apparently not a lot of artist problems on mastodon)

How to draw and render a weapon:

1. Draw the line art

2. Add the base colour(s)

3. Add shadows and blend

4. Add highlights and blend

5. Screw around with shadows and highlights for the next 30 minutes until you've convinced yourself it looks okay??

6. Tell yourself to LEAVE IT ALONE AND MOVE ON.

At my day job I get to work with significant analytics data that our team can make meaningful business decisions with.

With my personal work I really want to read into why a comic page about a pizza falling on a sandcastle go 50 likes but an illustration of a barbarian mermaid with starfish nipples got 100.

Those aren't significant enough numbers to derive any meaningful information from but I want to know if there is a peek posting time for starfish nipples. 🧜‍♂️

I had a stressful 3 weeks where a YT channel stole/edited my art, even leaving comments of thanks when questioned about the visuals as if they had created the whole thing and even offering wallpapers of it. I'm super grateful YouTube finally came around and removed the offensive thing. This person could have asked permission first or even gotten an Illustration Usage right from me for real cheap but no, art theft instead. Ugh those ugly edits on the sides!
