I worked on this oil on canvas for almost three years. It was a therapeutic process: it helped me to heal my broken heart. That was in 2014.
All mended and good to go now.

I had paint left on my pallet and since yellow is the dominant color, decided to use it for the outlining of my composition. The soft liner brush dictated the control I had. This composition will be tweaked as I move on.

Yep that’s me on my lunch break texting a couple folks. I have enlisted a number of friends as art assistants for some new projects and my dear friend and fellow artist Tracy Sandberg spent the day cleaning up and helping me execute steps on a new set of drawings.
This is a small corner of my space. It’s where I hang when I’m not working. That fabulous chair was a gift from my sister. Comfortable and supportive but not so comfortable that I want to nod.
Hope you enjoy this peek into my world.

Studio dog on duty on another warm afternoon. Thankfully with the shade of trees, good insulation, louvred windows and a ceiling fan, the studio (a converted shipping container) is reasonably comfortable with outside temps around 33°C.

@AbandonedAmerica I could really imagine some of these malls converted into artists and maker spaces. We have a place in Metro DC, The Torpedo Factory (in Alexandria) which was converted into studios and you can see the artists at work and they have sales area in their space usually also. torpedofactory.org/
