Drawing a starry night? Might as well do an artist study of Vincent Van Gogh's Starry Night. What did I learn? I do not like drawing like this, it's just too high effort

Study of Degas's Ballet Rehearsal. This took me quite a while, but the result of repainting it is stunning

A quick artist study they said...
This sketch of a Degas painting took me four hours already, I wonder how much it will take to add some colour
The robot (Simon Stålenhag artist study - not my design) is done! The shading was a lot of work, and I'm proud of the result! Added a touch of color in #krita.

I deeply admire Simon Stålenhag's Scandinavian landscape/SF fusion work, and just received his latest book, "Things from the Flood" (a sequel of "Tales from the Loop" - which is also a great TV show).
I tried to do an artist study of one of his robot works. The body he painted in this one combines the grace of a mantis with the coarseness of agricultural machines, radiating menacing normality from a snow-covered hill.
