Wanted to take this one home from Bonhams NYC, but... outbid. 'The Hidden Apple,' Philip Evergood (1901-1973). In the mid-1940s, his attention was increasingly toward the plight of women. The painting "creates so vividly the sense of a vital and vulgar humanity."
