"Ruins of the Lubomirski Palace on Iron Gate Square in Warsaw," Edward Okuń, 1939.
An elegiac picture; the Lubomirski Palace was bombed during the Nazi invasion of Poland in September of 1939, and if you look close, you can see a trio of Nazi soldiers standing in front of the ruins. The setting sun and overcast sky add to the mournfulness here.
