First day of my free time of the end of the year and I want to spend the day drawing.

But here comes the life long problem for me: I don't know what to draw 🙃 Do some more studies of bedrooms? Continue a portrait I've been working on in the first half of the year? Do a new selfportrait, since the last one is already 2 years old? I can't decide...

A few weeks ago I got this lovely palette I want to review and I really love the colours and how they swatch, the granulation etc. But I struggle so much actually using it in a way that I like. Never had that before happening but I guess it's normal?
Any suggestions?

spent more than 3 hours looking for references and editing them together, altering contrast and color so it doesn’t look like frankenstein's monster... how I wish I could just paint stuff out of my head without all this work

I’m so tempted to try dura last because I’ve been endlessly frustrated with every attempt to do color lines with watercolors without losing them in the painting. Using watercolor in an ink pen works but find its over too many layers it just feathers or sinks in and turns dull.
Analog photoshop layers would be the ideal.
I really just want art to be fun again :(

@KemoNine@mastodon.art You'll probably have to dig quite far back to find anything more explicit on my Flickr - it's been even longer than this last hiatus on what I call erotica-light (I find the term art-nude annoying, but it's ubiquitous). I want to get back to doing some more erotic / explicit work, but it's expensive and I am very picky about finding subjects are genuinely into it rather than taking the gig purely for the money. #artproblems
