I’m curious about multicoloured cyanotypes. This is the start of an experiment using overexposed prints to explore toning. That’s the plan.

Love to see examples by others :)

I have used this old pencil and ink sketch of a wasp, that has hung around the studio for a decade or so, as the motif for this flurry into making -colle

The AI visual amalgamators hoovering up images across the internet reminds me of simpler earlier times making digital collages and photo smashes with my mobile idevices. At least the images used this way were mine and the sources known. Something to think about.

I offer the Link. youtu.be/QZ3yQBPdcHY as a stand for sentient decision making . Maybe a discussion to be expanded on and continued at a later date.
PS. Must work out how to embed a video

I really like Mastodon, as it allows more than 280 characters to expand a thought on subjects of interest. This freedom has allowed me to post a brief experiment outside my personal blog, where I compare how the various AI platforms generate images from the same prompt i.e. A Western Front soldier with a peace dove.

The image below was generated using Stable Diffusion (SD). If I understand right, the algorithms trawled through Linkedin head shots to compose the face. I can forgive the six fingers.

See earlier posts using Lightricks and Midjourney to generate similar images.

There is a bit of whimsy in this version produced by SD in the dynamic shape of the dove, but it is not as powerful as the steel dove in the Lightricks version… my imagination decided that the rifle held by the soldier was crushed and forged into a peace dove. The Midjourney version is just pretty. A reminder that everything is political.
