I’ve finished the blocks ! My design wall isn’t quite big enough so I’ve laid them out on the floor which is a mottled colour so not as dirty as it looks!! I found a piece of silver grey fabric, to just to give an idea of how it would look. The thin orange strips look really good and add more colour, and I just used scraps to give me an idea of how it would look. Sticking to one colour and not introducing the others also makes it more cohesive. #quilting #quilt #art #artquilt

I’ve started the quilt! I found the blue fabric in my stash and it goes well with the colours of the painted fabric. I like the narrow strips of colour as I think the piece would be overpowered with the bright colours. Thinking I might narrow the wide orange strip. No real plan as to how to put it all together, but fermentation in process. #quilt #quilting #art #artquilt #artist #artofmastodon

Finally finished this piece that’s been in the studio for about 4 years. I had trouble resolving how I was going to quilt it, so printed a photo of it and drew the design. I’m really pleased with the end result, and am in the process of facing it rather than binding which I detest. #MastoArt #quilt #Art #ArtQuilt #ArtistsOfMastodon

Minds and Voices are a peer support group for people living with dementia in York.

I've learnt from them, trying to share their wisdom via art, for almost five years.

Every meeting is full of smiles, love, empathy and the truth of their lives.

Before I left for Porto, I made them a quilted banner (5 x 1.5 metres).

The words and the hands are all theirs.
