She got the rotation right by noticing that if Athena is upright and forward then the Owl is inverted so it has to roll forward in order to choose either option and have either appear pointed forward and right side up. She researched the metal composition of the coin and found that at that time period it was very nearly pure silver so that the silver she used couldn't cause a reaction!

Rudimentary spoon/bowl carving complete. Made from random hard scrap wood we had laying around the house. I think it's oak. Got part way through and realized the wood was split, but wanted to see it through anyway. I guess it's not gonna be a soup spoon.

I took a #paletteknife painting class through my local parks and rec center this morning. Pretty fun to completely eschew brushes for a little while. I think I’ll keep playing with it.
