@eniko I see #ArwaMahdawi in her Guardian column also suggests that conservatives find it a handy stand-in for slurs they can’t say in public.
Or, if you like; a smoked slur, in plain sight, to mirror a hidden meaning.

Its modern equivalent; take care, watch out, travel safely, look where you go.
"Woke" is akin to be aware, to look, to see.
It's opposite is; blindly go, throw caution to the wind, be indifferent, be careless,
