Good 🌄 Morning!
I'd like to point out that while the world knew Moeen Ali was retiring yesterday, I predicted the same for Stuart Broad. #Ashes23

A final comment about *that* dismissal and the carry on by the pompous white male upper classes of England (note there was no women in the Long Room) and all the yobbos from the lower classes taking mock mob-offence in the outer.
Bairstow is a wicket keeper. The reason he was incensed was because, as a wicket keeper, he knew the rules and had tried it in the past himself. He had been caught out by the Australian keeper when he should have known better.
Bairstow is a goose and he knows it.
People often get really angry to cover up for their own stupidity. Bairstow was acting just like any another buffoon who was covering for his own stupidity.

@bradley hmm. I fear Boland will become another Macgill. Good enough to be compulsory for every match *except* for that other bowler who is almost exactly the same age and is *just* that bit better so will get preference each time for the duration of their career. I like Boland over Hazelwood for flat tracks (economy great) but for Leeds I think you'd want H'wood for the movement.
More to the point, who's touring as spin options and who should be given the guernsey instead of Lyon?
Spirit of the game, eh?!
I'll just leave this here.

RT @JoshHalliday: You know it’s bad when the long room turns into millwall away
@meganchapman it’s actually disgraceful. Such poor sportsmanship. May as well have brought the sandpaper.
…and yes. If anyone brings up the Tony Greig event (checks calendar) 49 years ago that was pretty low too.
This was supposed to be a better, more likeable Australian side. #stillcheatingAussies #ashes #ashes23

It's depressingly obvious that the structure of English County Cricket isn't fit for purpose. It rarely produces players that are good enough to succeed at Test Cricket.
A possible benefit of being humiliated by Australia at home, is that there is more pressure from the public and media for a restructuring of domestic competition.

What's the benefit of announcing playing XI to the media a day or two before the test? Why reveal your plans to the opposition earlier than you have to.. Thoughts? #Ashes23
