Just accepted a quote for an #ashp from Octopus energy.
This will be the last (and biggest) change I need to make before I can get disconnected from the gas mains. So very excited.

Chuckling to myself watching the warm exhaust gasses from nextdoor’s Gas boiler arching over the hedge and being sucked into the back of our Air Source Heat Pump… free additional warmth! 😅

#ASHP after a year is giving me an average CoP (Heat out divided by Power in) of about 3.1. Sadly, the installers screwed up the metering so I only have crude meter readings ("since installed" kWh values) to go on

For those who like this kind of thing: My #ASHP is set up like this (note: diagrams created by inspection - not by understanding how it works). None of the "proper" terms are used here IANAPlumber

An alternate dying social media platform to the birdsite has reminded me that it has been 2 years to the day since I paid #NorthernGasNetworks (~£900 at the time) to permanently disconnect the Gas supply to my house and I have #ZeroRegrets about it!

Opted in to the #OctopusEnergy #SavingSessions planned for 17:30-18:30 this evening…#ASHP set to ‘Holiday Mode’, car charged last night and dinner to be cooked a little earlier since I’m taking my daughter down to a girls only skate night in Darlington!

The figures are in for #OctopusEnergy #SavingSessions and am pretty happy with the outcome considering didn’t go to extremes like some! Popped the #ASHP into ‘Holiday Mode’ for the hour, delayed dinner prep till after 18:00 and didn’t plug the #BEV in to charge straight after getting home as one would normally if needed charge!
