There are few resources where I live and even if I move I don't qualify for any other state benefits unless I establish residency for a year. I also currently live in a very privileged state that is unmatched anywhere else in the US but it's also a very expensive place to live. If you are going to be homeless, this is a better option. When the ops manager at Merrill Lynch asked me to apologize for a mistake I made, I said no. Later when I made a different mistake, I apologized to the person that was affected. The ops manager dismissed this apology because he had asked me to apologize so my apology had no merit. He is now a director of another branch of the same company. All operations staff at the time were Asian (who were all fired during the housing crisis), where he started as an entry level cashier. #racism #asianhate

My male relative had no idea wtf I was talking about. He looked at me like I had a horn on my head when I told him all the things white men have said to me at work and during job interviews. Typically the reaction I get is, that's not bad or it's natural. But he was totally unaware and confused. I never knew why he was so popular and strangely laid back. I spent the night with family and had dinner with my 94 year old grandmother. We talked about what opportunities and hope we had for the next year.
