Any #FLOSS #Linux security #camera / #DVR recommendations? I've been using #Zoneminder for years, but I tire of its constant high CPU usage, ancient motion detection algorithms, etc. So far, #Frigate, #iSpy, and #Shinobi look interesting. The #HomeAssistant integration in them is a plus, and #Frigate has ML offload to a TPU (available as a USB dongle) for dramatic reduction in CPU and power usage (and more sophisticated detection; differentiating cars from people, etc.) #AskFedi

I have an issue with #Sengi ATM: the "media-viewer" element shows below the columns, meaning that I can't see/interact with media.
The same happens with the "meatball/falafel" menu on posts (to copy link, etc).

When I check the CSS, though, their z-index is supposed to be 9999999, so I'm not sure what's going on... anyone has had a similar problem? I'm using #Firefox 116 but this has happened from time to time in older versions (though not that often)

mastodon.social users' avatar is gone. Not sure if this is only happening on the instance I'm using (floss.social) or if it's a problem with mastodon.social. Other instances work fine.

Same issue on Tusky, so it's not a problem with the website.

Does anyone else have this problem?

I just finished editing a video interview and I would like to add subtitles. Does anyone have recommendations for a software or service to automagically add timestamps? I don't mind typing the text (the interview is in 3 different languages so I'm pretty sure I'll do a better job myself), but syncing the text to the audio is such an annoying part of the process...

Bonus point if it's #FOSS and if it's not a érd party service that steals my data.

I keep having lots of trouble updating my #OpenSUSE systems. I get errors around files 'not found on medium' but when I visit the URL the file is there.
For a while the doing a `zypper cc -a` before `zypper dup` worked really well. But the last week that hasn't helped :(

Error: File './noarch/branding-openSUSE-84.87.20230227-1.3.noarch.rpm' not found on medium 'https://download.opensuse.org/repositories/openSUSE:/Tumbleweed/standard/'
(And many similar)

Any ideas?

I did not find a way to do it, nor any feature request for it so I'm wondering whether I just missed something obvious...
To me, playlists are more useful than channels since you can also link videos from others.

I have a question from a disabled person who wants to learn how to code. “My disability keeps me lying on my left side all day. I use a voice program to post here. Have anyone here used ventoy to boot up a windows VM images ('.img' file)?

I tried one image which is working fine as a VM but in ventoy it shows 'bootfile not found'.

Any clue as to how this may be fixed?
