For several reasons I'd like to start preparing my transition away from Signal, not necessarily abandoning it entirely (most of my family is on it, now), but at least starting to move my own usage to a #Matrix or #XMPP #bridge.
I see two main possibilities:
- host my own bridge
- use #ElementMatrixServices
Would anyone recommend any of the two (or another possibility)?
I'd also be interested in any review/feedback on #Element in general.

Recommendations needed (over-explaining is fine; not my wheelhouse).
I want a machine dedicated to various tasks, such as hosting
- git servers
- sharelatex
- jellyfin
- pihole
- etc...
I am stuck in analysis paralysis! Build vs buy, if build, what components, etc...
Does anyone have a recommended build that's not ridiculously overpowered, as is my wont?

Mhh, just saw this instance [0] that says they use an #h2o #webserver with quic (quick?) http/3 thingies that's supposed to be awesomely fast. Sounds interesting but I'm no idea what this is about...
Could anyone tell me what's behind and whether/why it's interesting, or point me to some easy-to-grasp summary about it?
