Does someone have a suggestion for a way to read out the power consumption of an entire PC?
Just asking the PSU isn't possible 😮‍💨
I have a german type f power outlet and i want to track the system power consumption on the system (linux) itself.
Ideas?

So it's been mentioned in a few of my books on ancient tattooing that some cultures would hand-poke but also cut the skin prior to applying ink for a tattoo.

I've also read that some early "naturalists" who wrote about Native peoples in North America misunderstood scratching rituals with tattooing (or conflated the two).

I'm curious if there's anyone on the fediverse with any information on the cutting technique? As far as I'm aware, this is not the same as scarification, which was also practiced in North America but which is referenced as its own separate rite and technique with separate purposes.

The closest thing I've been able to find online so far is a blog post on a French tattoo supply website about scarification and "ink rubbing" which is scarification where the artist adds ink to the wound. This sounds close, but the results are, of course, far from what would have originally been done.

I think I may be reaching in the dark here, but any information would be greatly appreciated!

Hmm, I don't know why this happen. Sometimes, after mounting my PSP's storage to my computer and pasting stuff to it (usually via GUI) it has the risk of becoming a read-only filesystem, no matter how many times I plug and replug, it'll be readonly

As soon as I connect my PSP to my windows partition, the system becomes writable again.

Also sometimes files won't show up either, doing "ls" will say "os error 5". Doesn't happen on windows either.

Is the a good #opensource workflow for adding content to a #staticsite from a mobile device? E.g. writing something in markdown using joplin, auto-uploading to a #hugo project and then auto-generating the html in some self-hosted site.

It feels that all/many? components are there but something tested and robust that will keep things in sync, wont mangle the site, provide feedback on status etc would be nice to have.

Is there a #linux #desktop that has an articulated #python strategy?

Using python for the GUI itself is sometimes problematic (slow) but tapping into the growing library ecosystem to enable more sophisticated management of user data as background tasks seems like a desirable direction.

Individual apps can do their own thing ofcourse, but the question is whether there can be a common API.

My son friends and their parents recently joined @element with their Android phones.
Two of them created accounts with the Google SSO support, but when they joined a encrypted room - the top of the app was filled with a warning about "key backup", when clicked - nothing happens.

Have anyone else noticed this bug?
Kinda annoying and not a good onboarding experience for new users :/

An analysis of my Fediverse connections shows 54 of the servers I'm connected to have "only one connection on them".

I wonder if that means each of those 54 servers have just one user on them. Is that right? Doesn't feel right to me.

Hey, #Python areas of #Fediverse - what's the best way to use Python to help with some handwriting text recognition?

Got approx 100k words of scanned PDFs. It's Polish, and OLD (1940s - 1950s), and the source is hella messy. I could start transcribing it by hand, but happy to spend 1-2 days trying to get a computer to do it.

Any good tutorials, anyone tried something like this? Boosts welcome.
