I'm guessing the asteroid missed then.
It will not hit us #asteroid2023bu https://www.theguardian.com/science/2023/jan/26/asteroid-2023-bu-about-to-pass-earth-in-one-of-closest-ever-encounters

I miss Tony Dunn who's in the other place, through whom I kept up asteroid events future, current and in the recent past.
From his animation, it appears that #Asteroid2023BU is barreling towards us and at this point is over the Pacific, and will follow a path over Siberia, across the mid East and pass closest to the surface (3500km) above South America.
It's just marginally above escape velocity, so should miss, but even capture as a truck-sized boulder should be minimal.
Looks like Earth is spared this time. But it’s a #CloseEncounter tonight. And since it drastically alters the asteroid’s orbit, it will affect ours too, microscopically. And maybe the Moon’s? #ThreeBodyProblem #Asteroid2023BU
