Anyone know what the current state of #asteroidos is? I bought an LG W150 watch to experiment with (has slightly better support and is smaller than my TicWatch) and have found that the nighlty builds aren't there any more.
Kernel updates on your watch and you will rise and shine π !
Today I learned a about #AsteroidOS [1]. It's like the LineageOS of the Android watch world. I really wish it (or another #foss project) project supported my Garmin Fenix 5s. I love the hardware and onboard software but don't care for the propriety app for connecting with the phone. Are there other options?

#AsteroidOS has been ported to the Fossil Gen 6!
This port is quite unique as it's the first Snapdragon Wear 4100 watch to gain AsteroidOS support.

Just installed @AsteroidOS (an open-source Linux based OS) on my watch, and honestly, I'm not mad at it at all! In fact, it runs more smooth than the WearOS the watch game with.
Now let's go test this for some longer time, see if it can replace my old Galaxy Watch4 in my quest to move to FOSS and privacy focused services and hard- and software. So far it's looking brightπ.

Anyone using a smartwatch with an #UbuntuTouch phone? I see there is an app promising some kind of sync with #AsteroidOS available but wondering if there are other options and about the level of support available in general. I'd mainly be interested in getting notifications.
Why aren't #Samsung watches supported? Is it due to low demand or the #Knox #security making it impossible?

@AsteroidOS what is meant by "bad" support, does it not work? works but crashes often? #asteroidos #mastoaiuto https://asteroidos.org/watches/sawfish/
#Gadgetbridge adds AsteroidOS support:
@gadgetbridge the open-source #Android application that supports connection to Pebble, Mi Band, Amazfit Bip devices and many devices can now also sync to your #AsteroidOS #smartwatch.

@cfml I have an LG Urbane smartwatch. Some older watches are better suited for #Asteroidos than others
Just installed #AsteroidOS on my original #Huawei Watch. Its nice to be able to resurrect this great device with a modern OS and it is now more responsive than ever... Unfortunately, my battery life is down to around 5-6h now after 6 years. Not much use as a daily driver at this rate... I wonder whether its possible to put a bigger battery in this thing? That said, nothing beats my self-winding #Doxa #Sub300... no battery, no worries! https://asteroidos.org
