Has anyone got, seen, or can make up mock-ups of how points of light (or... very bright text on a dark background) can look to someone who suffers halos with astigmatism?

If yes to any of the above, may I use them in a talk?

Any with astigmatism in one eye or a single 'lazy' eye had a good experience with a VR headset? i've never tried one and before i had glasses 3D effects never worked for me. My eye has become less droopy the longer i've had glasses and without glasses i can usually see things pretty well when they're about 3 to 6 inches from my eyes.

I’m #gobsmacked by how my #vision has deteriorated over the past year.

The need for #readers just so I can clip my fingernails is a real thing now. I remember when I was a kid, I was able to hold up money closely and focus on the little details. Now I can’t make out anything unless it’s at least two feet from my face.

Oh, and I have #astigmatism and things like lights have a halo around them now.

I was mostly OK losing half my hearing, but am having much more difficulty with my vision.

It was kind of headache inducing because I was having trouble looking up at the higher targets - and there was even one target I missed completely because I just couldn't focus my eyes on it.

Great tech for people who have eyes that work! Probably not one I'll be able to use often. (Luckily it is very easily turned off - hooray for options)

Played around with #PSVR2 last night. It LOOKS great and reacts well!

It's not without its flaws, though. I have long hair and the rear head support keeps sliding upwards and I feel like it's going to pop right off my head. I'm not a fan of the included earbuds but I have good ones I used for PSVR1 that I'll try. My #astigmatism makes the eye tracking feature complicated, I have misclicked several menu items because my eyes moved at the last moment.

Oh, and my room is too dark.

I bought a telephoto lens recently.

I found that optical quality appeared to be good...at least for indoor tests.

Then I took it outdoors, where temperatures are cool in the winter months. Image quality suffered...horribly.

In cold temperatures the lens appeared to be giving images with lots of astigmatism.

I have #astigmatism (which btw, sounds like a dinosaur 🦕), and my vision has gone downhill thanks to #diabetes. Yesterday and today, my left eye throbbed and felt “glassy”; it feels better if I put some Vicks under my eye and make it water. I might have caught cold in it, I don’t know. Does this happen to anyone else? If so, what do you do for it?

@jeffeb3 It is definitelly possible, but there are more parameters in play as #astigmatism And also #LensThinning which will be more complex to calculate. Making simple lens is not as problematic i guess.

In the last days I was contemplating that I wanted to get back into #painting in my free time this month.

I was pondering about getting Airbrush equipment in the last days and was looking into used options yesterday. Have found out a promising kit last night and will go check it out after work.

I'm becoming more and more excited about that. Maybe I'll be able to create illustrations on how the world looks at night with #astigmatism with it :D
