Just for the hell of it, I called #Astound, it's been 4 years since my last call, to see if they've managed a bridge the 1/2 mile of paved road next to a California highway. #CA174 When they were #Wave, they quoted 25k per household to provide service. I literally live on a 5 mile strip of #CA174 which cable and fiber won't develop. The answer was no. And somehow #FCC #placercoumty and the 4 ISPs providing service think 12-25 download is #broadband #ruralbroadband #infrastructureupgrade

Anyone else in the #sfba have #Astound / #WaveBroadband and go down? Their phone system seems to indicate it’s a larger issue, but also their phone system seems broken.

It's another day with some weather, and my internet's out. #Astound is held together with baling wire and hope, I swear.

Today I switched from #Xfinity to #Astound by #RCN for my internet. The difference in speed is unreal. My 400Mbps package with Xfinity would barely pull 50Mbps. My 300Mbps package with Astound is almost pulling 400Mbps. I should’ve done this forever ago. #internet #wifi #broadband
