SH2-155 - The Cave Nebula
Another image that has been in the making for quite some time due to my backyard being a rain and cloud magnet. 😁
This is around 30h of exposures in HSO narrowband, taken over several nights between early 2022 and 2023 from my backyard in northern germany.

#astrophography, using a DWARF II, a beginner’s rig, to capture C/2022 E3 (ZTF) “green comet” when it is close to Mars on Feb 12, 2023. 53 of 2.5sec stacked photos with the built-in image processing by the device. With about 3 degrees field of view, it was just big enough to have the comet and Mars in the same frame. #c2022e3ztf #astronomy

The Rosetta Nebula, 5000 light years away. Imaged on Wednesday in my backyard with RedCat51, ASI533MC, 90 x 2 minutes subs, IR/UV cut filter. A rose in the deep space 😄#Astrodon #astrophography

Comet C-2022 E3, shot with RedCat51 on Feb 1, 30 s subs for 15 minutes. The bright moon and clouds made it difficult to shoot, but at least I saw it! First time stacking a comet. Used @Siril_Official with the help of the video by @naz #astrophography #ZTFComet
Playing around with the Rosette nebula data, I was able to tease out the blue O3 inner core and contrast it against the hydrogen alpha red emission on the peripheral. Although through the lens it would never look this vivid, it is interesting the color changes observed just by pulling back some of the overpowering hydrogen red and letting the blue oxygen shine! #astrophography
C49 - Rosette nebula. Taken last night before the clouds rolled in. #astrophography
Horsehead and Flame nebulas. My first Pixinsight post process! #astrophography
Slightly less terrible #astrophography: Jupiter and the Galilean moons as seen through my 50mm, 50x refractor telescope. The moons look more like tiny pinpricks of light by eye, the photograph was taken on my awkwardly-held smartphone camera. The image is rotated 180 degrees by the scope, and I'm going by the identification on Sky & Telescope's tool.
