I'm not having much success; popped down to the 'Smoke to see the delightful #MarthaPlimpton in #SohoPlaceTheatre's superb '#AsYouLikeIt'. Now #KillingTime in a cafe before the train back, so many #Laptop #TableHoggers and having just sat down, a group of #LoudMouth office twats sat next to us....... *Stares at ceiling*

Of all the moral panics that do the rounds, perhaps the most ridiculous is the people who have suddenly realised that theatre has quite a lot of queerness in it and phew are they furious about it.

"THEATRE HAS BEEN TAKEN OVER BY GENDER FLUIDITY AND QUEERNESS! SHAKESPEARE HAS CROSS DRESSING IN IT! AND DON'T EVEN GET ME STARTED ON THE CLASSICS!"

We saw As You Like It last night, it is a really lovely production and has a brilliantly diverse cast and you should go and see it. in the cast of 15 there is colourblind casting, are two deaf actors (so the show was subtitled ftw), two transwomen and two non-binary actors. And Martha Plimpton! And it was great! Shakespeare can be hard work, but this was a joy. #AsYouLikeIt #SohoPlace #WestEnd #LondonTheatre #London #Theatre

I am gladder than I can possibly express that I don't live in London any more, but I do occasionally miss the theatre there. For those who *do* live in or an easy trip distance:- apparently Leah Harvey's going to be playing Rosalind at Soho Place, and a) nonbinary actor playing Rosalind! <3, b) Harvey is *so good*.
