The one unit that tries to read the disc regardless if there’s a cartridge inserted still behaves the same. So that’s interesting 🧐. The #AtariJaguarCD truly is one of if not the most wonky hardware there is.

So this weekend I swapped the drives in both #AtariJaguarCD units to see if that made a difference. It sort of did… Now neither of the units actually spins a disc. The one unit that used to sort of work (before this operation) would only bounce its laser but after the swap it only moves a bit when turning on.

I’m pretty much in the dark here as to why it isn’t working. Could both replacement drives be faulty? I think I’ll at least get a new PSU. These are old.
