On September 11, 1977, 46 years ago, Atari revolutionised the gaming world by releasing the Atari 2600, originally known as the Atari VCS (Video Computer System).
What set it apart was its use of ROM cartridges for storing game code. Instead of having games built into the gaming system, players could now switch cartridges to access different games

I just packed up my #Intellivision and re-hooked up my #ColecoVision. (space issues) I couldn’t find my Atarimax flash cart, so I had to go on a dig. Well time to see how the #atarivcs does as a Linux gaming machine. I did try to be fair with the game selection and kept them from at least spec requirement wise around the PS3 era of gaming.
