There's a wall clock in my living room. Today it needed a new battery. As soon as I replaced the battery, the hands started quickly moving to the correct time. The EXACT correct time, because this clock is synchronized to the #AtomicClock maintained by the U.S. National Institute of Standards and Technology (#NIST).

It's a free, and extremely useful, public service. So of course #Trump proposed to cut funding for NIST to zero.

so far I can say that GPS and Radio Sync appears to have the same time in sync (so it is good that the atomic clock in Germany agrees with the atomic clocks in GPS
