That million dollar bungalow in Austin is suddenly worthless.
All your neighbors houses are worthless.
What happens then?
#atxwx
What happens when folks try, and fail, to sell houses in areas that become no longer safe due to Global Warming?
Do those mortgages all go underwater?
Will the banks get bailed out?
Will the homeowners get bailed out?

Welp still no power. Bluetti ran out of charge but at least running the fan let us all sleep a bit.
There are lots of small outages all over the city, but they are down to a few hundred customers this morning from 7300 last night.
However...it only looks like 1 crew is out working on the problem. You can't talk to a person because austin energy is closed. 311 is telling us 10:30 now.
Currently 83/feels like 91
Bluetti is charging in the car and we are off to get bfast.

Still no power. ups failing woke me up. It's stuffy but hotter outside (80 feels like 89). Broke out the bluetti and a box fan.
Only 4 homes out in our neighborhood, everyone else is elderly. Will call austin energy after a nap.
Well no power. Went off, came back on, two booms louder than the lightening, and no power.
Then it started hailing. Still raining (yay we need it) so don't want to open the windows. Repair time 12:15a.
It is 75 degrees out. Good times.
Maybe i should re-read Heavy Weather. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Heavy_Weather_%28Sterling_novel%29 #atxwx
What the heck? 105 degrees F for most of this week in Austin? Very strange spring. :/ #atxwx
Meanwhile, Austin Energy has this post-ice storm advice for the next couple of days. #atxwx #atx #austin
"They issued these warnings for neighbors:
Be aware of their surroundings when out walking or in their yard.
Do not leave pets or children unsupervised under trees.
When possible, do not park vehicles under trees."
TikTok video of line of trucks with trailers full of tree branches.
On my first drive out, it looked as if the horizon had been lowered.
