We don't know how most meds work or really what they do. That's not scaremongering, it's the state of the art; iterating on a few chemical skeletons often discovered by accident. "Hmm, people like you seem to do better when they eat this molecule."

An unsettling truth about #AtypicalAntipsychotics: they are often quite capable of muzzling your horror at being trapped in an infinite and deeply unjust web of cause and effect in a universe where nobody is coming to save anybody.

But we *should* be horrified about that, lest we make it worse. Complacency kills - we who take these #meds typically know firsthand. Yet without them, the horror paralyzes us. So we make the trade.
