This was the magnolia grandiflora that grew by my dri.eway. It got twice that big,
Broke the water pipes to 6 peoples dwellings, shaded my yard from the sun all day and the neighbor's complained that the rootsmade their yard corner unus able.
Florists stole its foliage.
Leathery leaves never rotted down.

I eventually had enough.
I waved a magic wand of cash to 2 guys pruning next door and poof! Gone by dinner time.

This enormous Pohutukawa is in Sunset View Rd, Panmure. It has a great view of the Panmure Basin. It was covered in red flowers a month ago so a little early. They call it the New Zealand Christmas tree. The house next to it is dwarfed.
