Welcome all, I'm freshly migrated to this server and wanted to say hello. I'd signed up for Mastodon last year and let it go cold, but the latest bologna on Twitter made me re-evaluate whether and why I wanted a social media account. My answer is that I love creativity for its own sake, the labors of love people do with no grander plan but to bring something original into the world. It's wonderful to see what new things people have concocted: poetry, photography, music, art. I'll try to keep up my end of it too when I have things to share.

@doubletap loved the show about Reaper. I’ve been a Reaper user for several years now and Scott is correct. The community is incredible for support. Audio editing is, in its essential form, just like text editing for what most people want to do. This free and open source software works on all major OSes, downloads the ML language models automatically, after a few seconds of initialization the transcription works really fast ... feels like 🪄🧙‍♂️

It’s so ridiculously to use, thank God. Two YouTube videos and minimal Google searching later…and poking around in the settings…seriously, that’s it. I double-checked one thing in the manual. But talk about intuitive.

I recommend an external mouse btw.

Anybody know of a #macOS (#AppleSilicon) pure #AudioEditor (not a #DAW) - preferable free (lol I have no money!)

I was looking forward to #Tenacity, but they're abandoning macOS because they have no devs with a Mac to help them (quick read, didn't dig too deep.)
#WavePad is super expensive and #OcenAudio doesn't like some files I just tried in it.
