I still love tube amps and analog gear but I couldn't have done what I did in music (especially since the pandemic) if I didn't start using "modern" #audiogear .
Amp modellers and virtual instruments made it possible to record and release my own music, and play it live without carrying an amp. Having a digital rack mixer on stage helped with backing tracks and let all musicians control their own IEM mixes. And a super lightweight guitar is the cherry on top 🍒

The persistent awful hum from my left studio monitor was a **ground loop.**

Turns out plugging one speaker into one power outlet (freshly installed circuit) and the other into a different outlet (came with our 103-year old home) means that they're grounded differently, which will absolutely cause a 60hz hum.

One 25ft power cable later and my studio is pleasant again!
