This year, I'm referring to #IDPWD
as "International Day of Disability Rage".
So much #exclusion, gaslighting, and rampant #ableism in 2022 by too many arts and lit orgs in Australia.
So I was a bit rude?
A bit bolshy?
You bet!
Maybe do better at including #disabled folx from the get-go instead of tone policing us when we call you out!

Just when I think I've seen the worst of all the #ableist fuckery by #AusArts and #AusLit orgs this year in terms of returning to in-person-only events and not having livestreams....
The Sydney Review of Books are having an in-person-only end of year gala titled...
"This Event Will Not Be Livestreamed".
Really insulting to every #disabled, #neurodivergent, #immunocompromised writer & book buyer. 🤬

3 politely worded email requests to arts orgs and institutions for a zoom link to their in-person-only events = 3 long "no" replies from them detailing their obscene lack of imagination and creative problem solving skills.
Also, they all have a "Disability Action Plan" 🙃
Update:
1 of them has a "Digital Access Plan"!

And another thing...
All that inclusion & innovation during 2020 & 2021 that they'll congratulate themselves for in their 2022 annual reports has now gone. Gone!
Slow.
Fucken.
Clap.
Tear up your #Disability Action Plans - #AusArts orgs - they're meaningless.
