I've been involved in the Internet standards process, chaired working groups, and hosted a meeting of the #IETF. Also been involved with various network operator groups (#NOG), including running the programme at #AusNOG for a number of years. Now just doing the odd bit of consulting and training, #BGP and #IXP.
Interests include #travel and #photography, usually at the same time. Motivation for photography without travel is hard, or maybe my kit just weighs too much.

Apparently it is traditional to have an #introduction post so I guess now that I've decided that I might as well set up here I should do something about it.
I've been working in the #IT sector for a long time, originally being what would now be called a software developer writing VLSI design software and then contributing to the development of a text editor for VMS. Moved from there to system administration, initially VMS but later various flavours of #Unix. That coincided with the initial deployment of the #Internet in Australia and I migrated to #networking where I've pretty much stayed.
I've been involved in the Internet standards process, chaired working groups, been a member of an area directorate and hosted a meeting of the #IETF. Also been involved with various network operator groups (#NOG), including running the programme at #AusNOG for a number of years.
