My first early morning summer walk in weeks. Birds were in full song—honeyeaters, kookaburras, magpies, magpie larks, parrots, wrens, whistlers...the odd rooster in the distance. There was a light breeze, no flies, no mosquitoes, no traffic. Perfect.

Studio dog on duty on another warm afternoon. Thankfully with the shade of trees, good insulation, louvred windows and a ceiling fan, the studio (a converted shipping container) is reasonably comfortable with outside temps around 33°C.

Summer in Australia. Get all your jobs done early & the heat intensifies. So me this morning, strip bed, 2 loads of washing, 5km walk, breakfast, remake bed, prepare dough for baking later, chop back a plant that’s spreading too far, all before 9am. I’m done but that washing is just about dry now, so coffee first then I’ll bring them in & put away. #aussiesummer #hotweather
