Visited my mother today. Her garden is growing beautifully. Native plants are flourishing. Kangaroo Paws were hard to photograph. They are naturally flurry / blurry. Grevillea flowers are one of many on the plant.

I've fallen in love with these trees in my neighbourhood. A few weeks ago I was watching Bee and Puppycat which has a lot of absurd plush pastel hued fantasy plants and these trees reminded me of that imagery. I found out they're called Lagunaria patersonia and in many Australian neighbourhoods they are practically banned from being planted and people petition to remove them because their seed pods have little fibres that stick in your skin and make you itch like heck. People even call them itchy bomb trees. Can't decide whether this makes them a preferred candidate or not when it comes time to plan my own garden.
