I grew this from scratch ... It was a little hanger to start with ... Now look at it it's blooming bags ... I didn't make the bags, they are all Leo Monk's creations, this is NOT a sponsored ad ... This guy and his Wonderful wife make the most extraordinary beautiful leather bags, I own over 20, maybe 27, but 20 sounds less obsessed.

Today’s brooch in honour of Wisdom, the oldest known wild bird, a Laysan Albatross, first banded in 1956.

And for a friend.

This brooch was made by Cathy of Marvellous Creatures in Perth, Australia. It was a special order, and is entirely hand made and hand painted.

I ordered the Albatross as a gift for a friend, who was going through a rough time. When the order arrived, I was astonished to find that Cathy had included a second Albatross brooch - with a note that since Albatrosses bonded for life, it didn’t seem right to send one out alone.

Even though I’m no longer in contact with that person, I hope the Albatross keeps flying with them. It is their chosen animal to guide them through life.

New brooches and new pair of earrings. A present for myself because this lovely Australian small maker is stopping her busines after 10 years. Bok Bok Bgerk hand paints all her own designs on sustainable timber.

The light bulb brooch is about 25mm high, and the coffee pot earring is a teeny 10mm tall. The hand painting detail is gorgeous!
